Google have made changes to their licensing terms which took effect in July 2018 which meant that if you had not yet provided an API key in Admin > Data Providers your Google services may stop working. We have noticed services are stopping intermittently and at random times, so we highly recommend you enter your Google API key as soon as you can to ensure service stability. Below is information provided by Google:
Due to this, you may find some services such as Google Places and Maps either fail to work or display a watermark. You may also find some services have limited asset tracking abilities. In order to resolve this, you should go to the following URL to obtain an API Key for Google Maps, Places, and Server/Routing (You only need 1 API Key): https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/#get-started
Once you have obtained your key, go to Admin > Data Providers
and enter your Google Maps Key in three different sections, the Map Software, as shown:
You will then need to enter it into the Address Lookup section if you wish to use Google Places as shown here:
Finally, to allow the Driver Application to automatically calculate fares and API requests to complete routing requests, if you wish to use Google Maps Routing you should enter the key in "API Routing" also as shown:
Make sure after entering and selecting all your options you click "Update Data Providers".
Please Note: Google provides $200 USD free credit per month, for most customers this will mean the service will be free of charge. However, you should monitor your usage to prevent any unexpected bills for using this service, just as you do with any other 3rd party service you enable with Gazoop.
