What does the online marker actually mean?
Understanding the online marker for drivers
The Online marker indicates that GPS location data has been received from the driver's device within the last 5 minutes. It does not directly affect dispatching or job assignment logic.
Gazoop dispatches using a combination of socket servers and push notifications. The important status is the one next to the tick/cross icon: Available, Busy, NoAnswer, or Away.
Drivers will continue to receive jobs regardless of the Online marker, as long as they are Available or Busy with second-job support enabled. If the app is sleeping, they will receive jobs via push notification.
NoAnswer status
If a driver does not respond to a push notification within 60 seconds, they will be marked as NoAnswer. They must then log in and manually switch their status back to Available. A second notification will alert them of this change.
To stay reliably available and online:
- Keep the Gazoop Driver App open in the foreground. This prevents the phone from going to sleep.
- Adjust the phone's sleep settings to disable or delay timeout.
If GPS updates stop but the driver is still marked as Available, Gazoop will use the last known location for dispatching purposes.
